This game definitely capitalized on the height of Turtles popularity, no matter how bad the gameplay was! It is now available in the big "Cowabunga" compilation released a few years ago.
This was the first NES game my brother and I had after Mario. You are right about it being pretty much impossible. That underwater level...
But it was the Turtles!!! That is all that mattered to me at the time. 🙂
